Armanini Announces Nearly $500,000 in Grants for Elk County

December 18, 2025

HARRISBURG – State Rep. Mike Armanini (R-Clearfield/Elk) today announced nearly $500,000 in Local Share Account (LSA) funding invested in Elk County.

Projects funded by this round of LSA grants in Elk County:

The Highland Township Municipal Authority received $61,600 for upgrades to the water treatment plant.
Horton Township received $65,541 for improvements to the township building.
Ridgway Borough received $236,005 for a new fire department pumper truck.
The Ridgway Township Municipal Authority received $85,814 for a Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Study.

“Local Share Account grants are a vital tool for strengthening our communities,” shared Armanini. “These funds help support critical infrastructure, public safety and economic development projects that might otherwise go unfunded. In rural areas like ours, every dollar makes a difference and LSA grants ensure local priorities are being met with local solutions.”

LSA grants are distributed competitively for projects that need funding and are in the public interest, which improve the quality of life of citizens in the community and are owned and maintained by an eligible applicant or a nonprofit organization.

Eligible projects include construction or renovation, acquisition, equipment and infrastructure. Eligible applicants include individual counties, boroughs and townships; municipal authorities; economic development agencies; and redevelopment authorities.

LSA grants are facilitated through distribution of gaming revenue by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established in 2004 to administer Pennsylvania’s economic stimulus packages.

Questions about this or any state government issue should be directed to Armanini’s St Marys district office at 814-781-6301.
