Armanini Commends Investments in Healthcare Workforce Education
October 6, 2026
HARRISBURG – As Mount Aloysius College offers classes for its first nursing students in DuBois and holds open houses for prospective students, Rep. Mike Armanini (R-Elk/Clearfield) offered his thoughts on the innovative programming and college’s future plans.
“I applaud Mount Aloysisus College on its adaptive reuse of part of the Penn State DuBois campus. Its partnership with Penn Highlands will help to fill critical positions in healthcare.
“The college is guiding students through their prerequisite courses to prepare for launching the nursing program’s lab classes in the next semester. The Mount is approved to accept up to 40 students each cohort in the nursing program, allowing more and more qualified nursing professionals to enter the regional workforce for years to come. That will have important effects for all of us when we seek medical care.
“Mount Aloysius College has chosen to invest in northcentral Pennsylvania as a whole and that is to be strongly applauded,” he said.
